About the Author

The Scribbler,

I am a twenty-something studying towards an MFA in Creative Writing. I have worked as a freelance writer, as an Associate Publishing Specialist for the Legal Editorial unit of a multi-national and as an Executive Assistant and Staff Writer for a travel and lifestyle magazine. Recently, I went through a harrowing Quarter Life Crisis, transplanted myself from home and moved across continents to New York, where I currently live, work and study.

If I could have one superpower, I would choose flying so I can inspect the ruins in Athens, shop for macaroons in Paris, swim and sunbathe in Mykonos, pick olives in Tuscany, kiss C.S. Lewis’ grave in London, smell the orange trees in Seville, ride a tram in San Francisco and eat Hainanese chicken in Singapore – all in one day.

When I’m tired from all that, I would stay indoors with gummy bears and tea (or cake and coffee), read until my eyes hurt, with the Beatles playing on the background.

Some days, I think of planting a vegetable patch and living a completely sustainable lifestyle. On other days, I dream of writing a Pulitzer Prize winning novel and living in a castle. Most of the time, I have to suck it up and get real.

My biggest dream? To eat and travel through the world and get paid to write about it.

Haven’t even looked through your categories, and I already loove it! If only I had a highlighter, then most of your about the author would have been in yellow. 🙂
